Project Main: Lost Adventures Vol 1
Overview
The Lord of Liches- Niru the Everlasting is such an interesting sculpt. I personally have a love hate relationship with it. There is so much incredible detail and story telling. The Lich summoning a magical gas that is cast out literally screaming (screaming face sculpted into the spell at the top) to swallow the adventurer whole. I absolutely love the living fabric legs that grow into a more solid body as you move up. However one of my favorite aspects of this model pack is the necrotic bases to choose from. These bases are definitely going to get love for all kinds of things.
However the assembly and sculpt of the model is incredibly difficult to both assemble and keep from breaking. My Lich Lord actually fell off my desk the day after taking this picture and broke into three pieces. The top of the torso is only connected to the legs via three very small points (two fabric and the spinal column). Also the spell effect which is optional should be hollowed and printed as a whole piece which makes the model top heavy and prone to fall over and shatter the model at its weak points which was the wrist and spine. Figuring out how the spell effect comes from the upturned hand was also incredibly confusing.
Overall the figure printed easily and without any major issues. To improve the above mentioned issues I would either not include the spell effect and therefore reduce size for easier storage and significantly decrease the likelihood of breaking. If you wish to use the spell I’d use your slicer to hollow out the inside of the model to reduce weight on top and potentially add weight with fishing sinkers or metal washers to the bottom to counter the weight.
Print Issues/ Areas of Improvement
As mentioned above I would modify the spell effect by hollowing it to reduce the amount of weight on the top of the model making it easier to balance and less likely to tip over.

Assembly
Assembly for the Lich Lord was actually some what difficult for me to imagine. I ended up having to refer to the render quiet often. To attach the legs to the torso use the fabric as your guide. There are very slight notches in the torso where the fabric pieces attach and slide into.
Overall the arms fit easily but if using the right arm with the staff make sure you put the staff inside the fabric notch of the legs to help guide the angle of the arm.
As for the spell effect the tail of the effect coming from the hand did not have a significantly noticeable join. So position it to attempt to give the model the best center of mass and balance. I ended up feeding the tail portion between the thumb of pointer finger and gluing there.
