Overview
Whenever you first start collecting miniatures or 3d printing I almost feel like making a hoard of skeletons or goblins is a right of passage. This is of course true as well for 3d printing sculpt shops and patreons. As a result I feel like I have more skeletons than any other type of monster in my entire collection. But you never have enough right?
What I love about these skeletons is that no piece of gear and armor is alike for each and every one. They have enough similarity that You can obviously tell that these skeletons go together but they don’t all feel the same. I love the variety of poses as well. These models were simple to print and caused very little issue and could easily get put on your table quickly. The printing issues below may be due to my own print settings but I am still attempting to narrow it down.
Print Issues/ Areas of Improvement
Both of these print issues below have been difficult for me to narrow down and improve. The first of which is a bowed bottom. I have experienced this issue on a few models that I’ve printed with their bases attached and based on observation almost feels like resin settles with gravity making a large bulge towards the bottom of the base (printed at an angle). I do not know why this happens or how but it is something i’m definitely going to keep an eye on. Of course this can be corrected with a bit of sanding so no harm truly done.
The second issue experienced with this print is a visual shifting of the shield in the print. The shield itself came out completely and it is the only visible shift in the entire print of 7 models (ghosts + skeletons). I believe this to be potentially due to a FEP issue, too little exposure time, or a wobble. I have since replaced my FEP on my printer and have gone into a deep dive on exposure times for Elegoo ABS-Like Grey Resin. I have not reprinted it due to actually liking the aesthetic. I feel like it actually gives a dent and used like appearance to the shield. It should definitely go into a must print though for the sake of SCIENCE!
